Developing Strategies for Internet-based Statistical Softwares in Korea

The world’s most quickly evolving industry is information technology. Rapid developments in computer and in communication technology are changing all aspects of human’s life. Developments in computer hardware such as fast speed processors and huge storage spaces make new methods feasible and create new sorts of tasks. Developments in software, especially graphical analysis and display, make the application of standard methods easy for anyone with a computer. Electronic mail and related technologies have changed very significantly the survey style fundamentally in the last 10 years. These rapid changes in technology and thereby growing population of Netizen enable a new interviewing method, Internet Interviewing, and it is getting popular nowadays. However, this method can face some challenging tasks to its implementation. This paper discusses various strategies in developing an internet-based statistical software in Korea and demonstrate a prototype system.
